One of Dwight Darby & Company’s areas of expertise is the auditing of financial institutions. The banking industry continues to be complex and the staff at Dwight Darby & Company keeps up to date with the changes through in-house CPE and by attending industry related seminars. We receive newsletters and other correspondence regarding financial institution news to keep up with current trends and issues. We stay in contact throughout the year with our banking clients to make sure that they are aware of any legislative changes or trends that may impact them. We feel that this is what sets Dwight Darby & Company apart from other firms. Our clients feel comfortable contacting us at any time during the year, not just during the audit, about any accounting question they may have.
In addition to the auditing services for financial institutions, we assist in calculating their quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments and perform reviews of their loan files to assess the adequacy of the loan loss reserve. We consult with the payroll administrator in regards to the employee benefit plans (such as stock option plans) that are available and the related tax consequences. We prepare all tax returns, including federal and state income tax returns, tangible tax return, employee benefit plan information returns and directors’ and officers’ personal income tax returns.
