John joined Dwight Darby & Company in 1979, after graduating from Furman University, and has over thirty years of public accounting experience. He has been a partner of the Firm since 1990. He is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

John leads the Firm's Peer Review Program and performs peer reviews of other certified public accounting firms on behalf of the AICPA and has served on the Peer Review Committee of the FICPA. The areas of practice he currently concentrates in are providing auditing, accounting and tax services for financial institutions, nonprofit organizations, construction companies, manufacturing companies, franchisors and other closely-held businesses in the Tampa Bay area.

He has been involved with and served on the board of directors of various civic and charitable organizations during the past several years and is currently the Treasurer of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church and the Hillsborough Education Foundation.

He is married to Kim and they have three children – a daughter who is in high school and two sons in college attending the University of Florida and Davidson College.
